Los Sabrosos Dance Company and East End United Community Center (EEUCC) have received another round of funding from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation to continue their partnership with the Uniontown Area School District. Following a successful first year, the program will expand in Year 2 to further support students, educators, and families at Laurel Highlands Middle School and across the district.
Through EEUCC’s Out-of-School Time Program, Los Sabrosos will continue offering Latin Creative Movement, providing students with dance and creative arts experiences in the Uniontown region. The program builds creativity, critical thinking, communication, and social awareness while ensuring all students can participate regardless of ability. This year, the initiative will also expand to partner with One Voice One Community, connecting students from three middle schools during six-week sessions in the fall and spring.
The partnership will also continue the Creative Mentorship Program for special education teachers and aides across the district, providing creative teaching tools, wellness support, and weekly resources through the Latin Lowdown.
A Latin Family Summer Event hosted at EEUCC will bring students, families, and the community together for free activities, food, and lively Latin dance performances—strengthening connections between families, schools, and the broader community.
Together, Los Sabrosos and EEUCC remain committed to expanding access to the arts while supporting both students and the educators who serve them.
